What is UVsense Spectrum Analyzer for test TOC BOD COD DOC and NO3-N?
What is UVsense Spectrum Analyzer for test TOC BOD COD DOC and NO3-N?
Bebur UVSense series UV-visible spectrum analyzer employs UV-visible spectroscopy to measure the composition of organic matter in water, including TOC, BOD, COD, NO3-N and DOC. The sensor with a turbidity compensationfunction enhances measurement accuracy in actual conditions, making it suitable for online monitoring of waterworks, water treatment, domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater and natural water body.
The Working principle of UVsense spectroscopic absorption method for organic matter in water analyzer
Bebur UVsense Spectrum water quality analyzer for TOC BOD COD NO3-N based on the Lambert-Beer law, when a beam of parallel monochromatic light passes vertically through a uniform non-scattering absorbing substance, its absorbance is proportional to the concentration of the absorbing substance and the thickness of the absorption layer. The instrument emits ultraviolet light and allows it to pass through the water sample. The organic matter and other absorbing substances in the water will absorb ultraviolet light of a specific wavelength. By measuring the intensity change after the light is absorbed, the absorbance of the substance to ultraviolet light is calculated, and then the concentration of the corresponding substance in the water is obtained. Different organic substances have different characteristic absorption wavelengths. For example, aromatic compounds have strong absorption at around 254nm. Therefore, the content of specific organic matter in water can be inferred based on the absorbance at a specific wavelength.
Application areas
- Drinking water testing: can be used to detect trace organic pollutants in drinking water, such as disinfection by-products, pesticide residues, benzene series, etc., to ensure the safety of drinking water.
- Industrial wastewater monitoring: can quickly detect the organic content in industrial wastewater, such as petroleum, phenols, aromatic hydrocarbons and other pollutants, to help enterprises monitor the effect of wastewater treatment and ensure that wastewater meets the discharge standards.
- Environmental water quality monitoring: monitor organic matter in environmental water bodies such as surface water and groundwater, understand the pollution status of water bodies, and provide data support for environmental quality assessment and pollution control.
- Pharmaceutical and food industries: detect organic impurities in water during the pharmaceutical process to ensure the quality of pharmaceutical water; in the food industry, it is used to detect organic matter in food processing water to ensure food safety.
Features and advantages
- Easy to operate: no need for complex sample pretreatment and derivatization reaction, water samples can be directly measured, fast analysis speed, and test results can be obtained in a short time.
- High sensitivity: For many organic substances, UV spectroscopy has high sensitivity, can detect low concentrations of organic substances, and is suitable for trace analysis.
- Wide range of applications: can be used to detect various types of organic matter
